Portugal's polytechnic schools appoint new directors and launch student residence
On 1 July, the Instituto Politécnico de Beja (IPBeja) installed new directors for its four schools: Alexandra Telo da Costa Trincalhetas Tomaz for the School of Agronomy, Paulo Alexandre Sousa Bacalhau Paixão for the School of Education, José Filipe Pires dos Reis for the School of Technology and Management, and Rogério Manuel Ferrinho Ferreira for the School of Health. Their four‑year mandates begin a new leadership cycle for the polytechnic.
A week earlier, the Instituto Politécnico de Tomar (IPT) opened a renovated student residence on Av. Cândido Madureira in Tomar. Funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), the €2 million project provides modern rooms for 68 students and aims to improve academic integration and well‑being. The residence is expected to be fully operational for the current academic year.
