Portugal’s Socialist Party demands answers over national exam correction delays

Socialist Party secretary‑general José Luís Carneiro asked the Portuguese prime minister to explain a series of problems affecting the correction of this year’s national secondary‑school exams. Schools reported that answer sheets arrived late, some teachers were asked to grade subjects they do not teach and the digital platform used for marking experienced frequent glitches. The party highlighted that these issues came as students awaited the release of first‑phase results, calling the situation “incomprehensible” and demanding urgent clarification for families.

Carneiro used the parliamentary session to also criticize the government’s performance in other areas, such as housing, health staffing and fuel pricing, but his primary focus was on the exam‑correction failures, urging the prime minister to address the matter directly with the public.
