Portuguesa rice producers advance winter harvest delivery
Rice producers in the state of Portuguesa, Venezuela, are successfully delivering and storing their winter cycle harvests. Local farmers report that grain delivery to collection centers is proceeding smoothly and without restrictions.
Storage silos in the region are operating at maximum capacity and are properly conditioned to ensure the grain is preserved in optimal condition before being sent to processing plants. Despite the challenges posed by the ‘El Niño’ weather phenomenon, producers in municipalities such as Agua Blanca and Ospino have reported favorable yields and a continuous flow of grain to support national food supplies.
