Portuguese firefighter associations hold charity events

Various solidarity events held in Portugal have focused on raising funds for local firefighter associations.

In Oliveira do Bairro, the 10th Night Solidarity Walk took place as part of the Mix&Move program during European Mobility Week. Approximately 10,000 participants attended the 5km route, which included LED foam sticks and musical entertainment. The proceeds from the event are intended for the acquisition of operational equipment for the Oliveira do Bairro Volunteer Firefighters.

In Coimbra, the III Solidarity Gala was held at Convento São Francisco to mark the 137th anniversary of the Coimbra Volunteer Firefighters. The event, attended by roughly 270 people, featured musical performances including singer Beatriz Rosário. Funds raised during the gala are designated for renewing equipment and improving working conditions and safety for the corporation’s approximately 90 firefighters.
