Portuguese firefighter fundraising events

Overview

In September 2026, various solidarity events were organized in Portugal to raise funds for local firefighter associations.

In Oliveira do Bairro, the 10th annual Night Solidarity Walk was held as part of the Mix&Move program during European Mobility Week. Approximately 10,000 participants completed a 5km route to raise money for the acquisition of operational equipment for the Oliveira do Bairro Volunteer Firefighters.

Simultaneously, in Coimbra, the III Solidarity Gala was hosted at Convento São Francisco to commemorate the 137th anniversary of the Coimbra Volunteer Firefighters. Attended by roughly 270 people, the gala featured musical performances to raise funds intended for renewing equipment and improving safety and working conditions for the corporation’s approximately 90 firefighters.
