Portuguese monuments advance in Novas 7 Maravilhas competition

Several Portuguese monuments have progressed to the semi-final stages of the 'Novas 7 Maravilhas de Portugal' competition.

In the central region, the Centum Cellas monument in Belmonte has entered the decisive phase of the 'History – Historical Interest' category. Voting for this stage takes place between August 8 and August 15, with the goal of selecting one candidate per category in the central zone to advance to the National Semi-Final.

From the Trás-os-Montes region, three sites have secured places in the national semi-finals: Picote – Moderno Escondido in Miranda do Douro (20th Century category), the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora da Graça in Mondim de Basto (Religion category), and Casa de Mateus in Vila Real (Tourism category).
