Portuguese municipalities advance PRR-funded infrastructure projects

Municipalities in Portugal are reporting significant progress in executing projects funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).

In Torres Novas, Mayor José Trincão Marques announced that the municipality has achieved a 100% execution rate for its 12 approved PRR operations. These projects, totaling over 6 million euros, cover sectors including health, housing, social responses, accessibility, public services, culture, and digital transition. Major investments include the construction of the Cardilium Family Health Unit and the installation of a Citizen Shop. Other completed works involve housing rehabilitation and the digital modernization of local commerce.

In Entroncamento, Mayor Nelson Cunha reported that the municipality is advancing through two major housing interventions totaling approximately 10.5 million euros. One project involving the construction of 64 new housing units is 91% complete and expected to be finished by the end of the year. A second project focused on improving accessibility and remodeling facilities in 64 social housing units was completed in mid-August.
