Portuguese sports organizations engage in European Erasmus+ exchanges

The Confederation of Portuguese Sport (CDP) participated in the final meetings of the EUYOUSPORT project in Split, Croatia. Co-financed by the European Union through the Erasmus+ program, the project aims to increase youth involvement in sports governance and decision-making processes.

A European study presented during the conference revealed a gap between youth participation in sports activities and their presence in governing bodies, with only 27% of surveyed organizations reporting significant youth involvement in leadership roles.

In a separate Erasmus+ mobility initiative, the Rio Maior Sports Centre in Portugal hosted a delegation from Sportski Objekti Vukovar, Croatia. The exchange focused on sharing best practices regarding sports facility management, equipment maintenance, and reservation systems.
