Portuguese sports governance and infrastructure development

Overview

The Portuguese Sports Confederation (CDP) has been engaging in initiatives to support sports infrastructure and governance. Initially, the CDP President, Daniel Monteiro, conducted an inspection of sports facilities in Lousada to review local projects and discuss the sustainability of sports clubs. During this visit, the ‘Balcão dos Clubes’ initiative was introduced to assist organizations with management support and funding applications.

Subsequently, the CDP expanded its focus toward international cooperation and youth involvement through the Erasmus+ program. This included participation in the EUYOUSPORT project in Croatia, which addressed the lack of youth representation in sports leadership roles. Additionally, Portuguese sports centers have engaged in mobility exchanges with Croatian organizations to share best practices in facility management and equipment maintenance.
