Portuguese Universities Gain Spotlight in European Higher‑Education Alliances

The president of Portugal’s Politécnico de Portalegre attended the EU4DUAL Council of Rectors meeting in Brussels, reaffirming the institute’s commitment to the European University Alliance for Dual Education. The alliance promotes a dual‑training model that links teaching, research and industry partners such as Mercedes‑Benz, BMW, Airbus and SAP, and is working on new joint master’s and doctoral programmes to increase student and staff mobility across member institutions.

At the same time, the University of Porto was honoured with the Founders Journey Award by the European University Continuing Education Network (eucen) during its 56th Annual Conference in Cagliari, Italy. The award recognises Porto’s long‑standing contribution to the development of lifelong‑learning policies and collaborative projects within the network, alongside peers such as Oxford, Galway, Liège and Valladolid. Both events underline Portugal’s growing involvement in European university collaborations that aim to strengthen dual education and continuous learning across the continent.
