Posadas school occupation follows allegations of student mistreatment

Parents and students occupied the Escuela Provincial de Educación Técnica 45 (EPET 45) in Posadas, Misiones, to demand intervention following allegations of mistreatment by school staff.

The peaceful protest, which included a sit-in by students, follows claims that members of the school's management team and teaching staff engaged in harassment and offensive language toward students. According to representatives of the parents' commission, more than 15 police reports have been filed regarding these incidents. Families reported that some students have experienced anxiety and panic attacks linked to the alleged behavior.

Protesters expressed frustration with the Consejo General de Educación (CGE) for a perceived lack of action. While technical school supervisor Juan Eduardo Montiveros met with tutors, the community claims that a promised 48-hour response period from educational authorities passed without a satisfactory resolution. Parents are specifically calling for the removal of the school director, Lidia Maldonado, and other implicated staff members.
