POSCO Future M hosts AI Festival to accelerate digital transformation

POSCO Future M held its ‘AI Festival’ at POSTECH in Pohang to share achievements from its ‘AI 100-Day Challenge’ and accelerate enterprise-wide AI transformation (AX). The company selected 28 outstanding cases involving AI application development for office and manufacturing efficiency, as well as AI video production for internal promotion, safety, and education.

The grand prize was awarded to a ‘calcination furnace heater status prediction model,’ which uses AI to automatically collect data and calculate failure risks and inspection priorities for heat treatment equipment. Other notable awards included an AI-based MRO material integrated management system and an automated SEM data acquisition and analysis system. These selected cases are expected to be implemented in the field by the first half of 2027 or 2028.

Through its digital innovation vision, ‘BoT (Battery of Things) Ecosystem Game Changer,’ POSCO Future M aims to increase manufacturing productivity by 30% and reduce product development time by 50% by the first half of 2028. The company is also strengthening partnerships through major supply contracts, including a 6 trillion won deal with Samsung SDI and a 1.1 trillion won deal with SK On for LFP cathode materials.
