POSCO Future M corporate initiatives

POSCO Future M has undertaken various corporate social responsibility and digital transformation initiatives in South Korea.

In September, the company conducted a month-long relay of volunteer activities across its national business sites, including Pohang, Gwangyang, Sejong, and Seoul, as part of its ‘September Sharing Month’. These efforts focused on environmental protection, supporting future generations, and community engagement. Specific activities included marine debris collection at Cheongnim Beach, environmental purification at Gobok Reservoir and Tancheon, and providing meal support for vulnerable groups. In Gwangyang, employees engaged in nursing home visits, facility repairs at children’s centers, and agricultural assistance, while also collecting waste cans to donate proceeds to the Jungma Welfare Center for the Disabled.

By October, the company shifted focus toward digital innovation. Following an ‘AI Festival’ at POSTECH, POSCO Future M signed a contract with the American software company Palantir to implement its Foundry data operating platform and Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP). The company will initially deploy these technologies in sales and marketing to improve customer responsiveness and collaboration, with plans to expand to manufacturing sites after a verification period. This strategy aims to build an ‘AI native’ system where AI supports data analysis and planning, targeting a 30% increase in manufacturing productivity, a 60% improvement in customer response capabilities, and a 50% reduction in product development cycles.
