Italy faces severe weather disruptions and public safety incidents

Various regions across Italy are experiencing significant disruptions due to extreme weather and social issues. Public safety and order are also being challenged by criminal activity and neglect. In Capaccio Paestum, an abandoned tourist facility was seized due to environmental and structural hazards, and a newly inaugurated inclusive beach for people with disabilities was vandalized. In Triscina, local businesses report ongoing issues with vandalism and littering by groups of youths. Amidst these events, emergency services have performed notable rescues, including a woman saved from a viaduct in Soverato and a Carabinieri-led escort for a woman in labor through storm-induced traffic jams.
