Poste Italiane delivers record 179 million parcels in first half of 2026
Poste Italiane reported that it delivered 179 million parcels between January and June 2026, a 12.5 % year‑on‑year increase. Of these, portalettere (mail carriers) handled 81 million parcels, up 22.6 % from the same period in 2025 and accounting for roughly half of all deliveries from April to June.
The company has expanded its logistics model with a direct‑managed carrier network operating on a zone‑based distribution system and added 1,953 full‑time positions under a new union agreement. Its Green Delivery program now offers about 12,700 post offices and 20,000 pickup points or lockers, supporting a shift to more sustainable deliveries. The fleet consists of around 30,000 low‑emission vehicles, including 6,200 fully electric units. Financially, revenues rose 13.1 % to €6.8 billion and adjusted EBIT increased 7 % to €1.8 billion.
