Poste Italiane expands Smart Building project for energy efficiency
Poste Italiane is expanding its ‘Smart Building’ project across various locations in Italy, including Vignanello and Sepino, to enhance energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.
The initiative involves installing integrated, automated monitoring and management systems equipped with sensors and actuators. These devices constantly monitor temperature and environmental parameters, automatically adjusting lighting, heating, and cooling systems based on real-time needs. This technology aims to reduce energy waste and improve comfort for both staff and customers.
According to estimates from Poste Italiane, the implementation of this technology is expected to result in an average reduction of 15% in electricity consumption and 10% in gas consumption. The system also allows for remote programming and supervision, which assists in maintenance management. This project follows previous sustainability efforts in these regions, such as the ‘Led Project,’ which replaced fluorescent lamps with LED lighting to reduce illumination energy use by approximately 50%.
