Poste Italiane hits record 179 million deliveries in first half of 2026
Poste Italiane recorded a delivery volume of 179 million parcels between January and June 2026, representing a 12.5% increase over the same period a year earlier. The number of parcels delivered by postal carriers rose to 81 million, a 22.6% jump from the first half of 2025, and carriers handled almost half of all deliveries from April to June.
The surge reflects a new logistics structure built around a directly‑managed carrier network and a zone‑based distribution model introduced after a fresh union agreement. The company’s fleet now comprises 30,000 low‑emission vehicles, including 6,200 fully electric units. Under the Green Delivery project, the network of pickup locations has expanded to roughly 12,700 post offices plus about 20,000 additional points such as Rete Punto Poste and lockers, aimed at reducing CO₂ emissions.
