Poste Italiane renovates post offices to expand public services

Poste Italiane has completed renovations at several post offices as part of its Polis initiative, designed to support economic and social cohesion in Italian municipalities with fewer than 15,000 inhabitants. Recent reopenings include offices in Abbadia Lariana and Bosisio Parini in the province of Lecco, as well as Pozzomaggiore in Northern Sardinia.

The modernized facilities feature sustainable lighting, new furnishings, and accessibility improvements, such as tactile paths for the visually impaired and lowered counters. Beyond traditional postal services, these offices now act as hubs for public administration. Through agreements with the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, citizens can request or renew passports directly at the counter for home delivery.

Additionally, the offices provide access to registry certificates and INPS services, including pension slips and tax certifications. In the Lecco province, 68 locations have been updated under this program, while in Northern Sardinia, 81 offices have been renovated, with the goal of completing all 87 targeted sites by the end of the year.
