Brazil municipal health services implement new infrastructure and certifications
Various municipal health and social services across Brazil are implementing new infrastructure, certifications, and organizational changes.
In São Paulo, the M’Boi Mirim Municipal Hospital became the first public unit in Brazil to reach level 2 of the international Age-Friendly Health Systems initiative, focusing on specialized care for the elderly through the 4Ms methodology: What Matters, Medication, Mentation, and Mobility.
Maceió’s UPA Santa Lúcia received ONA Level 1 accreditation for quality and safety. In Parauapebas, the General Hospital (HGP) received 120 new reclining chairs to improve comfort for patient companions.
Other regional updates include the delivery of new medical equipment to six basic health units in Palmeira dos Índios, a one-year milestone for a mental health partnership in Teresina, and the relocation of social assistance services in Camaquã.
In Potim, a structural failure occurred during construction at the Vista Alegre health unit, though no injuries were reported. Meanwhile, in Curitiba, access to the Nossa Senhora das Graças Hospital will be temporarily altered due to municipal tree maintenance.
