Power outages cripple Bulgarian towns of Veliko Tarnovo and Gornooryahovo
Thousands of residents in the municipalities of Veliko Tarnovo and Gornooryahovo have been experiencing daily, unplanned electricity cuts this summer. The interruptions have damaged household appliances, forced businesses to discard products and miss orders, and created serious difficulties for people dependent on electrically powered medical equipment.
Affected locals have lodged collective complaints against the regional electricity distributor, demanding compensation for the losses. One remote worker explained, "Работата ми зависи от лаптоп, сигурен интернет и стабилно електрозахранване. Прекъсванията влияят пряко върху сроковете и срещите, които провеждам." Another resident said, "Телевизорът ми изгоря, но не мога да докажа защо е станало това," while a caretaker noted, "Когато токът спре, не мога да регулирам леглото ѝ. Ако трябва да я вдигна или сваля, а ѝ стане лошо, това се превръща в огромен проблем." The disruptions continue despite the complaints, leaving households and businesses without clear remediation or compensation.
