Power Outages Disrupt Water Supply in Argentina and Prompt Monitoring in Chile

Severe weather in Concordia, Argentina caused electricity cuts that halted the operation of the Complejo Roca water‑pumping system, temporarily interrupting potable water service for several city sectors. The Ente Descentralizado de Obras Sanitarias (EDOS) asked residents to conserve water until power is fully restored.

In Chile, the utility Frontel announced permanent supervision of its distribution network as a frontal system forecast to bring heavy rain, wind, snow and low temperatures across the central‑south region. Frontel’s customer‑service chief Jaime Morales said the company is coordinating with regional authorities and has protocols for electro‑dependent customers and critical services to respond quickly to any service contingencies.
