Power outages reported in Chiu Chiu and Jicotea

Multiple regions are experiencing significant electrical disruptions due to infrastructure failures. In Chiu Chiu, Chile, residents reported a power outage lasting over 11 hours, which also caused a loss of mobile connectivity via Movistar. Local residents expressed frustration with CGE, noting that such interruptions have become frequent and that response times are inadequate.

In Jicotea, Cuba, a fire at a power substation in the Ranchuelo municipality has left the community without electricity for five days. The equipment involved had been in service since 1965 and had been experiencing issues prior to the fire. The Villa Clara Electric Company stated that repairs are being made progressively, but the extensive damage to the substation and power lines means service cannot be restored immediately.
