Power outages scheduled in Benin and Ivory Coast

The Société béninoise d’Énergie électrique (SBEE) has announced temporary power interruptions across 12 cities in Benin on Thursday, August 27, 2026. The outages, intended to improve network quality and continuity, will primarily occur between 10:00 and 15:00. Affected areas include Abomey-Calavi, Cotonou, Porto-Novo, Lokossa, Ouidah, Bohicon, Parakou, Dassa, Kandi, Pobè, Dogbo, and Natitingou.

In Ivory Coast, the Compagnie ivoirienne d'électricité (CIE) has scheduled power disruptions in southern Abidjan for August 29 and 30, 2026. These works aim to reinforce the high-voltage B network and will take place between 08:00 and 18:00. Impacted sectors include Marcory, Koumassi, Port-Bouët, Anoumabo, and Vridi, affecting residential areas and the Koumassi industrial zone. Electricity is expected to return progressively as work concludes.
