Powerball jackpot rises to $131 million
The estimated Powerball jackpot has risen to $131 million following a drawing where no tickets matched all six numbers. The winning numbers drawn on Saturday were 18, 56, 62, 65, 67, and the Powerball number 18.
Two tickets matched five numbers but missed the Powerball. One such ticket, sold in the community of Floriston near the California-Nevada border, is worth $673,023. Due to California’s pari-mutuel payoff laws, this prize is lower than the $1 million or $2 million awarded in other states for the same match. A second five-number ticket sold in Georgia is worth $1 million.
The Powerball is played across 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the United Kingdom. The odds of matching all six numbers are approximately 1 in 292.2 million.
