PPPK Part‑Time Health Workers Protest in Jakarta Over Salary and Status

On 21 July 2026, PPPK (government employees on contract) part‑time health workers staged a peaceful protest in front of Jakarta City Hall. The demonstration was organised by the Association of Indonesian Health Workers (APKSI) together with the PPPK health sector to demand certainty of their rights, especially the unpaid 13th‑month salary they received while non‑ASN but lost after becoming PPPK.

Anisah Salim Alatas told reporters, “Jangan sampai statusnya diakui sebagai ASN, tetapi hak‑haknya tidak mengikuti,” emphasizing that ASN status should not mean a loss of benefits. Participants also highlighted the recent circular (SE No. 800.1.6/558/2026) on technical guidelines for terminating civil servants, which had caused anxiety among PPPK and part‑time contract staff, though officials advised them not to panic.

The protest reflects broader concerns over the legal and financial treatment of contract health workers who serve in community health centres, hospitals and clinics across Jakarta and Indonesia.
