The 18th BRICS Summit, hosted by India in New Delhi, has concluded with the adoption of the New Delhi Declaration. Diplomatic tensions were addressed through bilateral meetings, notably between Narendra Modi and Xi Jinping, who committed to maintaining peace in the Himalayan border regions. However, the summit also highlighted significant geopolitical friction. Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that any European deployment of troops to Ukraine would be viewed as war with Russia. Additionally, the declaration expressed deep concern regarding violence in Gaza and opposed the forced displacement of Palestinians.

The summit also noted the absence of Bangladesh, which declined to send an official representative following a dispute over invitation protocols. The bloc's discussions focused on resilience, innovation, and sustainability, with a collective call for multilateralism to address nuclear risks and economic instability.
