President Prabowo Subianto officially inaugurated the Jakarta LRT Kelapa Gading-Manggarai route on September 16, 2026. The new 12.2-kilometer line features 11 stations and is designed to strengthen Jakarta's public transportation connectivity, establishing Manggarai as a major transport hub that integrates the LRT with the KRL Commuter Line, Transjakarta, Transjabodetabek, and airport trains.

To promote the new service, the Jakarta provincial government has introduced a promotional fare of Rp 8, which will be available for the first eight days of operation, ending on September 23, 2026. Following this period, the service will enter a transition phase before definitive fares are set in October 2026. The LRT is projected to carry approximately 80,000 passengers daily once fully operational.

In related national news, President Prabowo also discussed economic prospects, noting that significant foreign investment is expected to enter Indonesia in the coming weeks due to the country's strong economic fundamentals. Additionally, the President addressed regional budget management, highlighting the need for more effective use of regional transfer funds to ensure they directly benefit local infrastructure and community welfare.
