Prada unveils eight-story flagship in Milan’s Galleria

Prada is expanding its presence in Milan’s historic Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with the launch of Prada Galleria, an eight-story complex scheduled to open to the public on September 23. The project transforms the site of the brand’s original 1913 boutique into a multi-functional hub that integrates retail, hospitality, art, and heritage.

The development connects the brand’s historic women’s boutique with its men’s fashion offerings via a subterranean passage known as the ‘Passaggio Segreto’. The complex will feature several distinct areas, including ‘Pradasphere’, a permanent exhibition dedicated to the fashion house, and the ‘Osservatorio Fondazione Prada’. It also incorporates the Marchesi 1824 pastry shop and ‘L’Appartamento’, a private, invitation-only space designed by Miuccia Prada.

Miuccia Prada described the project as an effort to make the brand’s complex history and its ongoing dialogue with art, architecture, and culture more visible. Lorenzo Bertelli, head of corporate social responsibility at Prada Group, noted that the project aims to balance the brand’s heritage with a drive toward the future.
