Prada flagship expansion in Milan
Overview
Prada has launched the Prada Galleria, an eight-story flagship complex located in Milan’s historic Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. The project occupies the site where the brand was founded in 1913 as Fratelli Prada by brothers Mario and Martino Prada.
Curated by Miuccia Prada, the development integrates retail, hospitality, and cultural spaces. The complex features boutiques for men’s and women’s fashion, beauty products, and home goods. The historic womenswear and menswear boutiques are now connected by an underground tunnel known as the ‘Passaggio Segreto’. Hospitality and food offerings include the Marchesi 1824 pastry shop.
As a cultural destination, the site includes the ‘Pradasphere’ permanent exhibition for archival pieces, the Osservatorio Fondazione Prada for visual experimentation, and ‘L’Appartamento,’ a private event space featuring works by artist Andreas Gursky.
Regarding corporate strategy, CEO Andrea Guerra indicated that the company is prioritizing the integration of Versace into its portfolio rather than pursuing other luxury brands, such as Armani.
