Prague and Brno face extensive road works causing prolonged traffic disruptions

The Technical Administration of Communications in Prague (TSK) has accelerated the planned reconstruction of Kbelská street, cutting the project from an initial 100 days to 45 days. Work will run continuously from 2 July to 15 August, involve a 3,900‑metre section, cost about 479 million CZK, and require lane reductions to a single lane in each direction with a tunnel‑mode traffic flow.

In Brno, the recently reopened Údolní street is now subject to a new restriction: one traffic lane at the Husová intersection will remain closed for more than a year. The closure stems from a roof reconstruction at a nearby historic elementary school, a project costing over 30 million CZK and carried out by H&B Delta. While the street remains passable, the lane blockage will persist until the end of the next school holidays, affecting local traffic flows.
