Prague to invest 25 million CZK in new PID Lítačka transport app

Prague is investing 25 million CZK to develop a new generation of the PID Lítačka transport application, aimed at overcoming the technological limits of the current version. The upgrade, referred to as PID Lítačka 2.0, is expected to be released as a standard update in early 2027.

Key improvements include the ability to purchase and activate multiple tickets simultaneously, a dark mode, and more efficient parking management, including the option to end parking sessions early. The new version will also feature smarter trip planning, such as recommending specific metro carriages for faster exits, better integration of different transport modes, and improved accessibility planning via elevator data.

Future developments may include integration with demand-responsive transport like PID Haló, more accurate delay predictions, and services for electric vehicle charging. The current application, which serves approximately 200,000 daily users and has a total of two million users, will remain functional without changes until the new version is deployed.
