Prague Metro Line D infrastructure development

Overview

The Prague Public Transit Company (DPP) has initiated a tender for the construction of the Libuš metro station on the new Metro Line D. The project is estimated to cost approximately 3.76 billion CZK, excluding VAT, with the tender evaluation based on price.

The station is designed as a deep-level facility featuring an island platform and two vestibules. The southern vestibule will connect to Libuš tram stops via an underpass, while the northern vestibule will provide barrier-free access through an elevator.

Construction is expected to last 54 months, with a target completion date of 2032 to coincide with the opening of the first section of Line D, connecting Pankrác to Písnice. While Libuš is part of this initial phase, the full metro route, which is intended to feature driverless trains, is scheduled to become operational in 2036.
