Prague Begins Major Kbelská Street Reconstruction, Expect Traffic Delays

Reconstruction of Kbelská Street in Prague started at 6 a.m. on 6 June and is scheduled to run continuously until mid‑August. The work is carried out 24 hours a day, with traffic limited to a single lane in a 1+1 regime and a "tunnel" mode that allows only entry and exit at the segment’s ends. Bus lanes have been set aside and the traffic flow of the Prague Integrated Transport (PID) has been adjusted to minimise delays, while police supervision has been increased.

The project involves around 100‑200 workers and includes preparatory measures such as horizontal road signs, lane closures on adjacent streets, and an on‑site towing service for accidents. The aim is to complete the first and second stages by 15 August, after which traffic will return to normal without restrictions.
