Prague region expands transport infrastructure and tram networks
Infrastructure and transport development projects are underway across the Prague region. The Prague Public Transit Company (DPP) has signed a 1.26 billion CZK contract with OHLA ŽS to construct a new tram line connecting Libuš to Nové Dvory. The 1.8-kilometer track is expected to be completed within two years and will feature barrier-free stops and digital information systems.
In the Prague 12 district, local leadership has outlined plans for a new tram line to Komořany, alongside developments for schools, parking facilities, and healthcare services. Meanwhile, in Jesenice, local officials are debating long-term solutions to severe traffic congestion, including the potential extension of Metro D, the construction of a bypass, and the D3 highway to alleviate pressure on the growing municipality.
