Prague hosts children's open day and magical garden events

A childcare center, Dětská skupina Pod Pevností, invited parents and children to an open‑day on 11 June in Prague 2. The free event ran from 14:30 to 16:30 at Lumírova 90/23 and featured a showcase of the group’s Montessori‑inspired program, sensory play, an obstacle course and outdoor stations. The centre serves children aged one to six, including those with special needs, and emphasizes respectful, stimulating education.

Two weeks earlier, on 16 May, the Prague 5 municipal district organized a “Kouzelná zahrada – Srdce Prahy” (Magical Garden – Heart of Prague) in the Kinský garden on Smíchov. Hundreds of children completed ten themed tasks along an adventure trail, ranging from slack‑line walks to archery and bubble‑making, before receiving a photo at a glowing heart installation and watching a short theatre performance. The event was overseen by district deputy mayor Petr Lachnit and partnered with local youth centres.
