Prague launches new bus line 145 via Blanka tunnel

A new bus service, line 145, has launched in Prague to provide a direct connection between the Prague 8 and Prague 6 districts. By utilizing the Blanka tunnel, the service connects Čimice and Kobylisy with Hradčanská and Dejvická, bypassing the city center.

According to the Prague public transport authority ROPID, the journey takes approximately 15 minutes, which is faster than the roughly 22-to-30-minute trip required by the metro when accounting for transfers and walking. To ensure reliability, the route utilizes several preferential measures, including existing bus lanes, new bus lanes, and tram tracks in certain sections, such as Zenklova street.

While some temporary bus lanes in other parts of Prague were removed following local complaints, ROPID officials noted that the lanes supporting line 145 could potentially become permanent if traffic flows smoothly and following approval from the Police of the Czech Republic and relevant administrative authorities.
