Prague to host 13th edition of 3Kino Polish Film Festival
The 13th edition of the 3Kino Polish Film Festival will take place in Prague from November 9 to 15. The event will feature 13 feature films representing contemporary Polish cinema, alongside theater, stand-up comedy, exhibitions, and music.
The festival opens with the premiere of The Doll (Lalka), directed by Maciej Kawalski. Based on the classic novel by Bolesław Prus, the film is noted as one of the most expensive Polish productions ever made. It is set in 19th-century Warsaw and stars actor Marcin Dorociński.
This year’s central theme is freedom, explored through historical events and personal relationships. The program includes a focus on Poland’s Lower Silesia region, an exhibition by photographer Rafał Pawłowski titled Shadows of Sounds, and a display of film posters to mark the 100th anniversary of filmmaker Andrzej Wajda’s birth.
