Prague tram services suspended for track reconstruction in Nusle
Prague is undergoing significant tram network disruptions due to track reconstruction in the Nusle district. Starting August 11, tram service will be completely suspended in both directions between Náměstí Bratří Synků and Spořilov to facilitate repaneling of the track in Chodovská Street. This specific section has not seen such work since 1990.
The project is expected to last 18 days, concluding on August 28. Additionally, modernization of switches at the intersections of Nuselská Street with Vladimírova and Na Zámecké will cause temporary daytime suspensions between Náměstí Bratří Synků and the Pankrác Depot from Tuesday to Sunday, specifically between 8:00 and 16:00.
Several tram lines, including 4, 11, 24, 95, and 96, will operate on altered routes. To mitigate the impact, the Prague Public Transit Company (DPP) is introducing replacement bus services X11, X24, and X96. Commuters are advised to use alternative bus lines or the metro system where possible. Drivers should also expect restricted car traffic in the construction zones.
