Pratt & Whitney begins $100 million expansion in Poland
Pratt & Whitney has commenced construction on a $100 million facility in Rzeszów, Poland, aimed at increasing production capacity for critical engine components. The new site will introduce the manufacturing of rotating engine components to support demand for commercial and military engines, including the F135 for the F-35 fighter jet, the F100, and the GTF series.
The expansion is expected to be operational by 2028 and will create more than 120 jobs. This project complements a $200 million investment in the company’s Columbus Forge facility in Georgia, USA. Together, these investments are projected to increase the output of critical parts, such as turbine disks and rotating compressors, by 30%.
Poland serves as the largest investment and employee base for RTX outside of the United States, employing over 9,500 people across Pratt & Whitney, Collins Aerospace, and Raytheon. The Rzeszów site already produces various engine components and technology for turboprops and auxiliary power units.
