Premier Energies and RCT India to build 12 GWh BESS factory

Premier Energies and RCT India, a division of Germany-based RCT Solutions Group, have signed a binding term sheet to form a joint venture for a 12 GWh battery energy storage system (BESS) manufacturing facility in Telangana, India.

The project will be executed through Premier Energies’ subsidiary, Premier Battery Technologies. The facility is planned in phases, with the initial 6 GWh phase expected to become operational by June 2027. The manufacturing hub aims to serve commercial, industrial, and utility-scale applications, targeting both the Indian domestic market and international export opportunities.

The partnership combines Premier Energies’ manufacturing capabilities with RCT’s engineering expertise and global supply-chain network. The initiative is designed to support India’s renewable energy expansion by providing storage solutions to manage grid flexibility and energy intermittency.
