Premio Tenco 2026 celebrates diverse musical voices in Sanremo

The 2026 Rassegna della Canzone d’Autore (Premio Tenco) opened at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo, featuring a blend of traditional singer-songwriter styles and contemporary genres. The event, hosted by Neri Marcorè, included performances and awards for several prominent artists.

Manuel Agnelli opened the ceremony by performing “Lontano lontano” by Luigi Tenco. Award recipients included Avincola for best interpreter album, Carmen Consoli for best dialect album, and Caparezza, who presented a surrealist rap performance. Other winners included Filippo Graziani, Emma Nolde, and Piji.

During his appearance, the rapper Anastasio commented on the fragmented state of Italian society, noting a lack of dialogue between different social groups, such as farmers and urban youth. He also discussed the evolving definition of the 'singer-songwriter' to include rappers and the impact of artificial intelligence on music.
