Sanrio, Bandai, and Heart announce new character-themed merchandise

Several Japanese companies have announced new character-themed confectionery and collectible products.

Sanrio is releasing the sixth installment of its ‘Friends Series’ soft vinyl figures. The collection features eight characters, including Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, and Pompompurin, dressed in sweet-themed costumes. Reservations for the 12-piece box set began on September 24, 2026, via the Candy Online Shop, with shipping expected in February 2027.

Premium Bandai has opened pre-orders for ‘Dragon Ball Super Divers Card Gummy’ sets. The product includes 20 packs containing one of 21 original character cards from the arcade game, such as Gotenks and Majin Buu. Pre-orders started on September 24, 2026, with shipping scheduled for March 2027.

Additionally, Heart has launched ‘4D Gummy Tamagotchi’ products. To celebrate the upcoming 30th anniversary of the Tamagotchi brand, these 3D-shaped gummies feature characters like Mametchi and Kuchipatchi in various fruit flavors. The products were released in supermarkets and convenience stores starting September 21, 2026.
