Ghanaian football: Women's Champion of Champions and U17 championship updates

Ghanaian football is seeing significant activity across both women's and youth divisions. In women's football, league champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies are scheduled to face FA Cup holders Hasaacas Ladies in the Women's Champion of Champions fixture. The match will take place on October 16, 2026, at the Otumfuo AstroTurf in Kumasi, serving as the curtain-raiser for the 2026/27 Malta Guinness Women's Premier League season.

Simultaneously, the 2026 KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship is underway as part of the Ghana Football Association’s Talent Development Scheme (TDS). The tournament aims to identify and nurture emerging talent among players under 17. Early stages of the competition have seen Elite Academy Prempeh College and Brong Ahafo emerge as leaders in their respective groups, following a series of matches at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence and other regional venues.
