Preparatoria Lázaro Cárdenas director denies security crisis

Mario Ricardo Zumaya Parra, director of the Preparatoria Federal Lázaro Cárdenas, has dismissed claims of a security crisis at the institution following recent threats and incidents. During an informative meeting with students and parents, Zumaya Parra stated that security protocols remain active and that the situation is being managed, contrary to characterizations appearing on social media.

On October 1, an incident involving threats within the student community led to the permanent expulsion of the student involved. More recently, on October 8, the school received an anonymous threatening phone call directed at administrative staff, specifically the School Services area. This prompted a security intervention involving municipal police, state security forces, and the prosecutor's office.

On the same day as the anonymous call, a female student fell from the second floor of the school and received emergency medical attention. As a preventive measure, authorities conducted random inspections of school supplies and belongings using canine units to ensure no weapons or dangerous objects were present on campus.
