President Bassirou Diomaye Faye calls for unity and solidarity during Senegal's Tabaski 2026
President Bassirou Diomaye Faye led the Tabaski (Aïd el‑Kébir) prayers at the Grande Mosquée in Dakar. In his address he thanked religious leaders, highlighted the sacrifice of the Prophet Ibrahim and called on Senegalese citizens to embrace unity, sharing and solidarity.
He expressed gratitude for families able to celebrate, noted the hardships some faced, and extended wishes of peace, health and prosperity to both the Muslim and Christian communities. Faye also asked for prayers for the national team competing in the 2026 World Cup, urging religious and customary leaders to continue supporting the nation.
