President Tinubu inaugurates remodeled Abuja City Gate

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, and Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike opened the renovated Abuja City Gate on Thursday. The redevelopment was undertaken by Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, replacing a long‑neglected monument with a modern gateway that features a water fountain symbolising the 36 states and the FCT. Officials said the upgrade reflects the administration’s push for urban renewal and announced a memorandum of understanding with Julius Berger for ongoing maintenance, alongside plans to add parking, restaurants and other public amenities around the site.
