President Bola Tinubu pledges security boost and backs women’s empowerment in Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu met Archbishop Paul Gallagher, the Vatican’s envoy for relations with states, at his Abuja residence. Tinubu reaffirmed his government’s focus on inter‑faith dialogue and said, “My administration will continue to work on religious harmony among all faiths,” while announcing that more resources are being allocated to security, with intensified surveillance in previously ungoverned areas and greater investment in youth programmes to curb terrorism.

In Bauchi State, APC chieftain Khamis Darazo praised First Lady Oluremi Tinubu’s women‑empowerment initiatives, highlighting the story of an Abuja entrepreneur who built houses from profits earned selling akara and akamu. Darazo urged financial institutions and development partners to provide affordable credit, vocational training and market access, arguing that empowering women will reduce poverty, strengthen families and boost the national economy.
