President Daniel Chapo calls for national unity and dialogue

President Daniel Chapo has called for increased dialogue, national unity, and respect for differences to ensure Mozambique’s political, economic, and social stability. Speaking to the Mozambican community in Botswana during a state visit, Chapo emphasized that while differing opinions are a natural part of a democratic society, they must not lead to violence, hatred, or disinformation.

Chapo highlighted the Inclusive National Dialogue process, which incorporates parliamentary political parties, civil society organizations, religious groups, community leaders, youth, and women. He noted that the political commitment to this dialogue has been codified into law to help define the country’s future governance and legal frameworks. Additionally, the President urged citizens to reject destruction as a means of conflict resolution and addressed the ongoing security situation in Cabo Delgado.
