Mozambique presidential diplomatic and domestic activities

Overview

Mozambican President Daniel Chapo has engaged in international diplomacy and domestic calls for stability. In late September 2026, Chapo traveled to Brazil to serve as the keynote speaker at the Petroleum and Gas Forum in Rio de Janeiro, focusing on ‘Energy Evolution for the Future’ to promote Mozambique’s hydrocarbon sector. He also attended the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Following these international engagements, during a state visit to Botswana, Chapo advocated for national unity and political stability. He emphasized the importance of the Inclusive National Dialogue process, which involves various political, civil, and religious groups, noting that the commitment to this dialogue has been codified into law. The President also addressed the security situation in Cabo Delgado, urging citizens to reject violence and disinformation.
