President Emomali Rahmon visits Kyrgyzstan after Kazakhstan meeting

On July 30, 2026 Tajik President Emomali Rahmon traveled to Kyrgyzstan following a prior visit to Kazakhstan, where he attended the opening ceremony of the international multisport tournament “Games of the Future 2026” in Astana. In Cholpon‑Ata he held talks with Kyrgyz officials on regional security, transport and energy cooperation, building on discussions held in Kazakhstan.

The previous day Kazakh President Kasym‑Jomart Tokayev met Rahmon in Astana, thanked him for his participation in the Games and stressed the importance of political dialogue and joint initiatives between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. Both leaders highlighted the need to strengthen ties across Central Asia.
